MEET IAN CHWATUK

Ian was raised in a middle-class family and is the first in his family to graduate from college. Frustrated by rising costs, declining values, and broken politics in New York, Ian chose to move south and attend The University of Alabama — choosing a state that believes in opportunity, personal responsibility, and rewarding hard work.

While at The University of Alabama, Ian worked full-time in Tuscaloosa hotels, gaining firsthand experience in the service industry and developing a deep respect for the men and women who keep our local economy running. Alabama gave Ian the opportunity to build a future, and he has never forgotten the values that made that possible.

After college, Ian worked in hospitality, banking, and real estate, giving him real-world experience with small businesses, homeownership, and the challenges families face when government becomes inefficient. Determined to give back, Ian returned to school while working two full-time jobs to earn his law degree from the Birmingham School of Law. Today, he serves the people of Alabama as an attorney.

Ian is also a realtor and an adjunct professor, where he mentors students and helps prepare the next generation for success. His work is guided by a belief in accountability, respect for the rule of law, and the importance of strong families and safe communities.

Ian is running for Alabama House District 70 to bring principled, common sense leadership to Montgomery. He believes in supporting law enforcement, protecting taxpayers, strengthening education, and promoting economic growth without unnecessary government interference. Above all, Ian believes government should work for the people — not the other way around — and that District 70 deserves a representative who will listen, work hard, and put the community first.
